Beauty and the beast
I made a pauper of a princess
I was beneath the animals,
Under a mountain of fear;
I wasn’t nearly good enough,
To escape the shame I deserved –
The shame I needed,
So I’m sorry and grateful:
Reconciling these two only humbles me more
But I was never humble before,
So the beauty only ever got the beast,
And not the prince she made me
I told you it was a sad love story
But it’s my favorite, so I’ll keep telling it.
